DeWindt Architecture: listening. As you view the projects, you’ll see many styles – historic preservation, traditional Pueblo and Territorial design, as well as ultra contemporary departures. Most of our work is in natural materials – adobe, straw, and stone. Many of our adobe homes are heated through passive solar design, with built-in summer shading and ventilation. Each project represents friendships; each building is a reflection of those who imagined it. Each one has a story.
We’ve been engaged in the practice of architecture for more than 30 years, and have developed and continue to develop close associations with the best engineers, consultants, builders, craftsmen and artists. The scope of our architectural projects ranges from individual furnishings and fixtures to a manufacturing campus. Our work in the areas of corporate project management and construction management is extensive.
It’s an exciting time for design professionals, builders, and developers, as we are encouraged/forced to think globally for the good of all by building locally - using materials and talents close to the project. The concepts of sustainability, healthy environments, and conservation, are constantly redefined through investigation, discovery, and invention.
